Welcome to George’s Music Springing the Blues blog!
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the south’s largest free blues concert. We had incredible performers this year and approximately 200,000 people in attendance.
Festival Basics:
WHO: More than 20 national and regional blues artists featuring Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, Cedric Burnside and Lightnin’ Malcolm, Toots Lorraine and the Traffic, Skinny Legs and All and many more.
WHAT: A free three-day music festival. Food, arts, crafts and other vendor exhibitors along with activities for the kids. Saturday “outerfest” activities include a surf contest, 5K run/2.5K walk and metric century bike ride.
WHEN: Friday, April 9 at 5 p.m. – Sunday, April 11 at 7 p.m
WHERE: SeaWalk Pavilion in Jacksonville Beach
WHY: Celebration of spring and the Blues in all its forms. A free beachside activity for families and blues fans.
